Feeding Cavies!
Thank You!

A typical cavy dinner!

Your guinea pig should always have hay, dry mix and water daily alongside F & V!

Feeding Your Guinea Pig!

* Guinea pigs can't make their own vitamin C so it is essential that they are given fresh vegetable matter daily.

* Their staple diet is grass and so they should always have plenty of hay at all times. My guinea pigs also have an occasional supply of ReadiGrass (dried grass) to eat.

* They should be fed a cereal mix that has been formulated for guinea pigs, but this is complimentary and must always be fed alongside fruit, vegetables and safe wild plants.

* Guinea pigs can be fed: cauliflower leaves, cabbage, broccoli, sweetcorn, runner beans (not the plant). Carrots, beetroot, swede, turnips, parsnips, chicory, cucumber, celery, tomatoes. Apples, pears, melon, grapes, bananas and oranges.

* Wild plants that can be fed safely include dandelions, grass, parsley, clover, sow thistle and plantain.
